As an experienced technical leader, I have a background in various technologies, including back-end, front-end, and mobile development. I have built applications in the security and telecommunications fields and enjoy working in the growth space with agile teams. I am an advocate of R&D with a strong focus on productization, and through my architectural experience, I have learned to look at systems from a high-level perspective and perform deep dives to identify areas of improvement. Through my leadership experience, I am able to help grow teams and be a high-functioning member while executing on a roadmap and creating a high-performing culture.

I enjoy being part of the full product development cycle by working closely with product, data science, growth, and development teams. I am interested in flexible remote/hybrid offices that allow me to balance my love for my craft, traveling, and being a present dad. I am not interested in commuting or being in an office most days, or location-based salaries.

In my current role as a Principal Software Engineer at Gusto, I am a technical lead for the growth engineering team. My responsibilities include providing architectural guidance for core Gusto systems and creating and executing on medium- and long-term visions. I also enjoy mentoring and developing leaders around me through 1:1 sessions, technical architecture sessions, and non-technical office hours. In this role, I have been involved in a number of successful projects and initiatives, including improving website performance and leading the migration of the telephony system. I have also been named inventor on five patents in the telecommunications and mobile app space.
